HCFM Partners with SRF and PAL for Healthy People, Healthy Carolina’s Initiative

Hub City Farmer’s Market is excited to partner with Spartanburg Regional Foundation and Partner’s for Active Living in the Duke Endowment’s Healthy People, Healthy Carolina’s Initiative. This grant will support prevention efforts through Eat Smart, Move More Spartanburg and promote behavior changes that address chronic issues such as unhealthy weight, diabetes and heart disease by increasing physical behavior and nutrition. Local coalitions will involve leaders from a wide spectrum of community organizations in developing ways to engage residents in improving their health.

Hub City Farmers Market Announces New Leadership Team

We are pleased to welcome Jordan Wolfe to our team as the new Executive Director. Wolfe began in January 2019 and is already making an impact with the community through our organization! HCFM is also excited to announce the promotion of Heather Raines to Associate Director. While she will continue working as the Market Manager, Raines will take on more responsibility to help the organization become stronger!

HCFM to Attend First Ever Country-Wide Mobile Market Summit

Our Mobile Market Manager, Hannah Heacox, has been co-planning and will attend a gathering of more than 40 mobile markets from around the country at the first ever Mobile Market Summit in Buffalo, NY on March 5th & 6th.  Hannah will be co-leading and presenting at 3 of the summit’s sessions on a variety of topics.  This summit will be a great opportunity to discuss best practices, learn skills and information from esteemed experts, and network with other like-minded programs from all over the country!

Hub City Farmers’ Market receives USDA Grant for Upstate Food Assessment

The Hub City Farmers’ Market (HCFM) is excited to announce an award for over $98,000 in funding from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) through the Agricultural Marketing Service’s “Local Foods Promotion Program” to undergo a comprehensive food system assessment and plan for Spartanburg and Greenville Counties!
