Bill and Tad’s Excellent Duo

Bill & Tad’s Excellent Duo explores some of the best rock music originating from the late 1960s and early 1970s. Utilizing the unique textures of the 12-string acoustic guitar and the West-African djembe drum, Bill and Tad bring fresh life to timeless classics, embellishing them with lush vocal harmonies, and give them a modern style and flair that makes their sound accessible to audiences of all ages. Building a repertoire from a firm foundation of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and Led Zeppelin, the duo also delves into more contemporary artists such as Ryan Adams and Lucinda Williams, and performs original music.

BILL FLETCHER: A well-known and active professional drummer and vocalist from Spartanburg, SC, Bill has become familiar with audiences around the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida as a member of SHANE PRUITT BAND, THE SECRET BAND, and formerly, COCKTAIL FRANK. At the community level, he applies his percussion talent by hosting music therapy sessions at Spartanburg Regional Hospital and their family of clinics. Aside from singing lead and harmony vocals in BILL & TAD’S EXCELLENT DUO, he features his skills on djembe, an African hand drum, giving the duo a unique style and sound.

TAD TAYLOR: Brought up on the Upstate music scene through the hard-rocking years of the 1980s, Tad has broadened his stylistic spectrum form searing leads and rollicking riffs to embrace strongly crafted songs featuring clever harmonic twists and soul-stirring lyrics. After a stint in Los Angeles in the 1990s, he returned to tour regionally with blues band THE SHADES, before forming rock band THE WATTS in 2006. In 2013 he teamed up with Bill Fletcher to form THE SECRET BAND, and a year later the duo formed to embellish the band’s signature style with an acoustic variation featuring dual lead vocals, harmonies, African percussion and 12-string acoustic guitar.
